About

Dr Nicky’s current clinical work involves individual interventions, always guided by the values of collaboration, respect, neuroaffirming care, and cultural sensitivity. She has a strong foundation in evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches and works flexibly and thoughtfully to meet each person’s needs, drawing on a range of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, systemic and family-based approaches, psychodynamic models, structural dissociation theory, and Method of Levels (MOL).
Throughout her career, Dr Nicky has remained deeply committed to placing the voices of clients at the centre of their care. She takes an intersectional approach to her work, with experience supporting people from a variety of diverse backgrounds, including refugee, multicultural, and multilingual families, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those living with disabilities and chronic illness. She believes strongly in creating a safe, supportive space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered to move forward.
Dr Nicky is a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychologist with experience working in both the UK and Australia. She has supported people across a wide range of services — including child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS), support for young people with long-term medical conditions, pre- and post- natal support (including birth trauma and birth loss), early intervention services for refugee families, and broader adult and older adult mental health. She has worked in both private practice and not-for-profit organisations, always with a focus on delivering thoughtful and person-centred care.
Her experience is across the lifespan — from early childhood to older adulthood — with specialisations in working with trauma, neurodiversity (such as autism and ADHD), and emotional difficulties linked to physical health conditions. Dr Nicky also has extensive experience supporting children, young people, and families in navigating challenges related to behaviour, anxiety, low mood, and other difficulties (including grief and loss, trauma, social skills). In her previous work, she has provided specialised assessments for a range of developmental and emotional concerns, including specific learning disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD presentations.
At her present practice, Dr Nicky is focused on working with adults aged 18-40 experiencing everyday mental health challenges, such as stress, anxiety, low mood, or difficulties managing day-to-day emotions. She also specialises in supporting neurodivergent people, people living with chronic health conditions and those experiencing emotional distress following a recent medical diagnosis or injury. She also sees people who have experienced trauma, as well as those who require pre- and post- natal support (including birth trauma and birth loss).
Dr Nicky has published research in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as child development, early intervention in refugee mental health, online therapy for young people, and the adaptation of mental health services for adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. She brings this up-to-date knowledge into her clinical work to ensure you are offered the most informed and effective support.
Dr Nicky completed her Bachelor of Psychology with Honours at the University of Sydney and holds a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of East London (UK).
